Call for applications for a PhD scholarship
founded by the National Science Centre in Poland
The project leader, Prof. Dr. Witold Szaflarski, announces a recruitment for a PhD position in the field of molecular and cellular biology within the OPUS project funded by the National Science Centre, entitled: “Functional and structural analysis of anticancer drugs as inhibitors of protein biosynthesis.”
The goal of this project is to understand how antibiotics and anticancer drugs affect protein biosynthesis and drive the formation of stress granules. We plan to isolate ribosomes and expose them to selected compounds, followed by structural analysis of ribosome–drug complexes using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM). In parallel, we aim to explore how these interactions modulate the cell’s integrated stress response.
Scholarship: 30 months with the possibility of extension
PLN 5000.00 gross value (approx. PLN 4000.00 net before the mid-term evaluation; approx. PLN 4700.00 net after the mid-term evaluation).
