COMPETITION FOR 2 STUDENT POSITIONS - SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER IN THE First Team PROJECT (Feng 2021-2027) Foundation for Polish Science

Unit Name: Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań (UMP), Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry
Position Title: Junior Specialist in Chemical Synthesis

Project leader, Dr. Daniel Ziental, announces the recruitment for two positions – student scholarship holders in the First Team Feng project funded by the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP), titled "Development of Biocompatible Porphyrinoid Derivatives as Light-Activated Plant Protection Agents."

Requirements:

• Student status in pharmacy, medical analytics, biotechnology, or a related field
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, at a minimum of B2 level
• Availability, ability to work both independently and in a team, scientific curiosity, motivation, self-discipline, communicativeness, analytical thinking
• Documented scientific achievements will be an additional advantage

Tasks:

• Working approximately 40 hours per month in support of other research team members. Tasks will include performing simple research tasks, preparing materials and equipment for experiments, and overseeing the continuity of work by ensuring necessary reagents and materials are available.
• Participation in team meetings
• Reporting results to the project leader
• Assisting in the preparation of scientific queries and documents related to the grant's implementation.

Employment Conditions:

• Scholarship agreement for a maximum period of 48 months with a gross-gross salary of PLN 1,000.
• Planned start: October 1, 2024.
• Location: Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry

Recruitment: Interviews with selected candidates who meet the recruitment criteria will take place on September 13, 2024, starting from 7:00 AM.

• Candidate's CV, with particular emphasis on previous laboratory experience and scientific achievements (publications, conference participation), information on workshops, internships, and professional training, as well as awards, distinctions, scholarships, and grants received
• Contact information for two referees
• Cover letter
• Certified information on completed studies and the obtained grade point average, a copy of the higher education diploma.

The CV should include the following clause:
