COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF DOCTORAL SCHOLAR IN THE FIRST TEAM PROJECT (FENG 2021-2027) Funded by the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP)

Project Title:
“Development of biocompatible derivatives of porphyrinoids as light-activated plant protection agents”

Requirements:
- Completed higher education studies in pharmacy, forensic and analytical sciences, biotechnology, molecular biology, medical analytics, or related fields.
- Knowledge of plant cultivation techniques, particularly in in vitro cultures.
- Documented laboratory experience in studying growth and development parameters of cultivated plants.
- Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level) in both written and spoken forms.
- Traits such as availability, independence, teamwork skills, scientific curiosity, motivation, self-discipline, communication skills, and analytical thinking.
- Fulfillment of the criteria for scholarships according to FNP’s regulations for First Team projects (FENG 2021-2027).
- Fulfillment of admission requirements for the Doctoral School of PUMS:
- Documented scientific achievements (minimum one scientific publication or conference presentation).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental work in the laboratory according to the project’s research plan, including:
- Optimization, execution, analysis, and presentation of experiments.
- Testing newly developed light-activated plant protection agents under in vitro, in vivo, and in situ conditions, with some work involving field experiments.
- Participation in team meetings.
- Reporting progress and results to the project leader.
- Preparation of scientific publications and participation in conferences.
- Fulfillment of doctoral studies requirements, including:
- Completing coursework.
- Teaching up to 60 hours per year.
- Preparing a series of scientific publications or a monograph as a doctoral dissertation.
Employment Terms:
- Doctoral scholarship for 48 months.
- PLN 4062,98 gross/gross monthly during the first two years.
- PLN 6259,12 gross/gross monthly after the mid-term evaluation.
Scholarship is determined by Provost’s edict. In case of changes of the amounts, agreements will be annexed.
- Planned start date: January 1, 2025.
- Work location: Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Poznań University of Medical Sciences.
Recruitment Process:
- Recruitment is conducted in two stages:
- Preliminary interview with the project team.
- Submission of required documents to the Doctoral School of PUMS and successful completion of the school’s admission process.
- Applications should be sent by December 13, 2024 (8:00 AM) to dziental@ump.edu.pl.
- Interviews will be held on December 17, 2024, starting at 8:00 AM. In exceptional cases, the date may be rescheduled, with candidates notified via email.
